I was given the option of a two hour window between 12:30 and 2:30 or 2:30 and 4:30. I chose the earlier time to try to combine it with my lunch break from work. Unfortunately, after the plumber was not there within 20 minutes, I left a voicemail without a returned phone call. After an hour went by, I called again and spoke with the receptionist who said she would call me back because the plumber was supposed to be on his way. She called me back a little bit later saying he was almost done with his previous job and would be there soon. When he arrived 2 hours late, he sat out in his truck forever. Then he came in, and I showed him exactly what he needed to do, which is the same thing that I had called and already explained originally. After a couple minutes at my house, he sat out in the truck for a long time getting the quote together. He came back with a price of almost $400 for adding less than a foot of pipe, and elbow, and drilling a hole in the floor. I declined the service due to that outrageous price but was still charged $59 for his trip to my house. I was never informed of this charge that would be required, so it was definitely unexpected. I understand that people don't always give quotes for free, and I wasn't told I would be given a quote, but all he did was look for a moment at my pipes to hear me say what I had already explained, and then sit in his truck most of the time. Fortunately, even with paying the $59, I still came out ahead to use Sauk Valley Plumbing, who were quick, responsive, and even added an extra hose that was not quoted by Lenhart, and it came out to about $160.
